I watched mom’s face and got very sad.
She watched as her forty two years’ of stuff was thrown into boxes, discarded or taken by others. She was not able to move very well because of Parkinson’s, so she couldn’t sort the rooms’ full of collected items. I knew she was frustrated, sad and sometimes angry. But she is an upbeat, positive person and said little. I didn’t ask her but once that day how she felt, partly because I didn’t want to upset her and partly because there just wasn’t time.
The move to her new assisted living facility is in 3 days. I had called 8 movers to get quotes. I had called and met with a guy who would sort out a garage full of boxes and decide what could be donated and what would just be thrown out.
